In the Heights: Set Building and Construction Intensive

Mondays, February 5-26th and Saturday/Sunday, March 3-4, 2018 
Ages 11-16

Experience the magic in bringing a show to life with this exciting workshop. Under the guidance of master carpenter and set builder, Jean-Paul LaRosee, students will learn how to design, construct and build set pieces for our Spring production of In the Heights! Spring 2018 Conservatory Acting Studio  *Audition Only

Mondays, February 26 - April 30, 2018
Ages 10-16
Instructor: Amy Marie Haven
*Audition Date: February 10, 2018 from 11:00am-12:30pm

Through exercises, scene and monologue work, this ensemble-based acting class will focus on teaching actors how to be their most alive and authentic self onstage. Actors will complete class with a newly coached audition monologue and scene with partner(s) to be performed at Throckmorton's Spring Open Mic. ➣ Learn more 

 

Little Throck: Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.

March 17 - May 19, 2018
Ages 6-11
Instructors: Amy Marie Haven and Lily Jackson

Based on the ever-popular, award-winning 1970's cartoons, Schoolhouse Rock is an energetic musical that teaches lessons with clever, catchy tunes. Students will learn the skills of acting, singing, and dancing. The class will culminate in a production where students have the opportunity to showcase their skills. ➢ Learn more

 

 

Teen/Adult Dance Class:  Shake it Up!

AGES:  14 and up, beginning and intermediate dancers - ADULTS WELCOME!
DATES/TIMES:  Monday, February 25 thru April 30th 6-7:30pm (no class 3/12 & 4/9)
INSTRUCTORS:  Devyn Cottrell, Nicole Heifer, Reba Gilbert and special guest!
TUITION:  $150

An exciting 8-class series that offers a little taste into 4 styles of dance including: hip hop; musical theatre, contemporary and a wild card style. All classes are taught by local professionals including TBA award-winning choreographer Nicole Helfer, Hip Hop Artist Devyn Cottrell, Ahdanco company member Reba Gilbert and a surprise guest teacher! This class is about joining a community, having fun and moving our bodies to fun music. Performance opportunity at the Throckmorton Spring Open Mic Night Thursday May 17th!

Production and Songwriting Workshop

AGES:  12-17
DATES/TIMES:  Wednesday, Mrch 21 thru May 16th 4-6pm (no class 4/9)
INSTRUCTORS:  Curtis Aikens and Noah Frank
TUITION:  $300 plus $8 software cost

A premiere songwriters' workshop!  Students will learn the basics of music production and have the opportunity to develop original songs/beats.  This exciting new offering will be led by local musical artist/producer Curtis Aikens and DJ Noah Frank.  Class will culminate in a performance of the songs/music at Throckmorton's Spring Open Mich Thursday May 17th.  This is a great way to build new skills, explore self expression, and develop an understanding of he deeper layers of musical production through songwriting and music!

Improv, Acting and Sketch Comedy Workshop

A spectacular series of improv and acting workshops for beginning and experienced actors, improvisers, and comedians (and all those interested in being!). Little Throck: Snow White

September 9 - October 29, 2017
Ages 6-11

Written by local playwright Tyler Null, this retelling of the Snow White myth features a huge cast of characters, unexpected plot twists, and songs taken from pop culture.
