Floating Records and 7 on Locust present Fall Revue 2017, a celebratory evening featuring some of Floating Record’s talented artist roster Marble Party, Jeffrey Halford and the Healers, and Graham Guest. Join us for a fabulous evening of music and fashion from the women’s boutique 7 on Locust.

FLOATING RECORDS

Started “on a houseboat in Sausalito,” Floating Records has quickly become one of the rising new independent record labels around. Founded by Don Zimmer, their growing artist roster includes respected Americana-Roots musician, Jeffrey Halford and the Healers, whose latest album Lo-Fi Dreamsrose to #23 on the Americana Music charts, and who is currently on his second consecutive year of a European Tour; Houston, Texas-based group Moses Guest, whose Floating Records’ release Light has been favorably reviewed by No Depression and many other publications. Another project gaining steam: County Well, a Northern California-based musical collective fronted by Zimmer “with the goal of connecting the talents of both local and traveling musicians.” Also in the works: A special Floating Records Music and Fashion event at Throckmorton Theater in Mill Valley on November 4; and a project with Mark Karan, lead guitarist with ex-Grateful Dead member Bob Weir’s band, Ratdog.

7 ON LOCUST

7 on Locust is a boutique celebrating creative lifestyle products, clothing, and fashion accessories. Located in downtown Mill Valley, CA. Meet Nadine Storyk Curtis, owner, stylist, and curator of 7 on Locust.

The boutique opened it’s doors in June of 2013, but has been years in the making. ‘Life’s rich pageant‘ led me here. I benefited from a bohemian upbringing that provided the foundation for an adventurous life, one that eventually brought me to South Africa for an extended period of time. While living in Cape Town, I started Be Sweet, a yarn and knitwear company that works with job creation programs. I was so inspired by the innovative craft movement and the community of artisans working together, I knew that if I were to ever open a boutique I would model my business around unique creativity.  I designed my store to reflect the artful lifestyle, curiosity and sense of adventure I develop through my travels. Every piece of jewelry, clothing, art and home decor is sourced with this concept in mind. It’s a constantly evolving process influenced by the places I visit and the interesting people I meet along the way.
