5-7pm: Sunday Sessions Songwriter’s Circle
Featuring Lorin Rowan, Matt Jaffe, Jon Mitguard and Dore Coller
Sunday, April 9 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Joining us for our Sunday Session – Songwriter’s Circle will be Lorin Rowan, Matt Jaffe, Jon Mitguard along with Dore Coller!
With so many talented musicians in the area wouldn’t it be wonderful and rewarding to take them out of their band environment and focus on the songs they’ve written? In our Sunday Sessions Songwriter’s Circle we’re bringing in members of some of the most popular local bands!
Singer/Songwriter Dore Coller is spearheading these sessions which highlight some of the best tunesmiths around. Come join us for a unique, intimate evening with good vibes and spectacular music.
MEET THE MUSICIANS
Lorin Rowan is a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, arranger/producer, tv and indie film, audio book scorer who has recorded and toured internationally both as a solo artist and with his brothers as The Rowan Brothers. Lorin writes in a wide range of musical genres. His song “Soldier of the Cross’ is the title track of Country Artist Ricky Skaggs’s Grammy winning Southern Bluegrass album. In the ‘Classic Rock’ world, Marty Balin with the Jefferson Airplane/Starship recorded Lorin’s song ‘Gold’. For more information, visit www.lorinrowan.com
Matt Jaffe is a rock & roll singer/songwriter from San Francisco. Cutting his teeth on countless open mics around the Bay Area, Matt started taking music (a little bit) more seriously when Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads offered to produce his first record. Since then, Matt has continued to churn out more songs than he can remember the words to, oversaturate the market with gigs (opening for the likes of Mavis Staples, Wilco, and Blues Traveler), and collaborate with the likes of Chuck Prophet and Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T’s. Fresh off the release of his first LP, California’s Burning, Matt Jaffe is street-teaming with the best of them to bring rock & roll back to the masses.
Sunday Sessions Songwriter’s Circle is complimentary to the public. Donations are greatly appreciated and help us continue to offer high-quality programs at affordable prices. Every member of our diverse community is entitled to be exposed to and inspired by thought-provoking, multi-cultural events and the Throckmorton is committed to the inclusion of all members.
